In 2026, Triennale Milano presents a major exhibition dedicated to Andrea Branzi: Andrea Branzi by Toyo Ito: A Continuous Present. The exhibition spans over sixty years of research, capturing the complexity of a key figure in both radical and contemporary design.

Within the exhibition, a central section is devoted to the experience of Superarchitettura – a foundational and disruptive moment from which a new idea of living emerged. It is here that some of the most significant relationships with Poltronova take root.

On display is one of the works, the Superonda sofa (1967), which marks the beginning of the collaboration between Poltronova and the Florentine radical groups Archizoom Associati – of which Branzi was a member – and Superstudio. A decisive turning point that helped redefine the role of the object, transforming it into a critical and narrative device.

Alongside it, Safari (1968) is also presented, the so-called “imperial sofa”: a manifesto of Afro-Tyrolean kitsch and one of the most radical and ironic expressions of Archizoom’s research.
