The Mobili Grigi series—featuring the luminous mirror Ultrafragola—has been published in issue 30 of Le Visiteur, within the article “The Life of Interiors” by Emanuele Quinz.
In the essay, Quinz argues for breaking away from a design history built as a sequence of remarkable works and exemplary figures, proposing an alternative genealogy that begins with interiors: the most essential and intimate space, the “first place” of life. Drawing on historical and contemporary examples—and bringing together critical theory and literature—he uses personal interiors as a lens to reflect on what design is, what we do with design, and, crucially, what design does to us.
The image relates to the Poltronova installation for Eurodomus 2 (1970).
